We want to build a world where everyone can wear what they want

Equability began in January 2020 after conducting interviews, surveying over 60 people with disabilities, and understanding academic research that identified the lack of adaptive clothing as a barrier to social and professional participation.

From our interviews

Being able to not depend on someone else to get dressed is a great feat, especially since most of us want to regain independence while doing common things without assistance

— Cleuton N.

Throughout my life, I’ve experienced many difficulties when choosing and buying clothes. The use of button down shirts, jeans, and similar clothes is rare for me, mainly because it’s the most difficult clothing to put on and take off

— Verônica H.

As a double amputee, I cannot use a wide variety of clothes, so I usually always have to wear athletic clothes

— Lina M.

In my case, I would say that the use of some clothes are almost impossible for me. In order to make it more comfortable, most, if not all of my zippers, have rings to make them easier to open

— Guilherme C.
